Untitled_1.1.1 edited.jpg

The Cormorant is one of the few birds capable of diving underwater, diving for food, and surfacing, flying again.  That is why the Cormorant Film Fest chooses this animal as a symbol of a cinema that searches the depths of the human condition, that immerses itself in our social and emotional ins and outs, to create an honest and strong work, without masks or impositions that hold back the point of view of the author and his team.

This little  Coruñés festival is nothing more than an attempt to justify the transgression and positive criticism in the seventh art, the power that cinema has always had to raise awareness and excite.

As Parquet Courts proposes in his recent album  Wide Awake , we live in a turbulent time, faced  to an uncertain future and very crude at first glance. Therefore, more than complaining, the Cormorant proposes to seek solutions and raise awareness.

Because cinema is sensitivity, and with it, nations can move.
